At the Dom Perignon dinner last Friday night. This was the 2005 in a luminous bottle which presents wonderfully in a darkened room - somewhat of a marketing gimmick, with a little battery in the punt of the bottle, but I’m sure it has the desired effect of selling more bottles. Didn’t take as many notes as I should have as the previous wonderful Champagne started to kick in! Salmon/Pink in colour - a wonderfully fragrant Pinot nose - rich on the palate with more phenolics than the 2006 to follow. This is more the keeper. A good red burgundy with bubbles.
