Diego Curtaz
Vallée d'Aoste Gamay

Lovely aromatics, wild raspberries, pepper, nice herbal character, almost jammy fruit on finish, Judy’s a touch hot for Gamsy but overall delish.

It was so fun to try this Gamay (French grape) from the Vallee dAoste alpine region of Italy. I love Piemonte Nebbiolo and found this neighboring Gamay super bright and juicy. The terroir shines through, with pronounced high altitude and herbal flavors.

Delicious and super interesting. Spicier and more peppery many other gamays I've had but with the same tart cherry and cranberry fruits in the back. Viscous acidity. Would be great with a fatty pasta dish like cacio e pepe
