Diane de Belgrave
Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
2014 vintage. Whereas the grand vin Château Belgrave typically features a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, this second wine is dominated by Merlot (79%) with the remainder Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium-bodied, with good fruit concentration, freshness and balance with ripe tannins and a good smokey length. A pleasure to drink now, but should age well for a few years. Good value for 17,90 euros. Abv. 13%.

Jun 5th, 2023Final meal in Paris. I had read about Anthony Bourdain liking this place because of its simplicity and perfectly cooked meat. (Apparently one of his favorites in Paris). Great meal to close our week in Paris, especially if you like fire grilled meat as much as we do.
The Diane de Belgrade was a textbook Bordeaux. I liked it even more after a bit of time in the glass. This wine is also a reminder that even simple bottles can be amazing. @Robert et Louise in Le Marais.

Cooked berry, very little tannins. Low alcohol, typical haut medoc.
