The 2017 ‘Signature’ Syrah has a very small portion of Viognier blended in. Showing off its dark hue, this reveals layers of dark fruits with smoked brisket, Asian spices and chocolate tones on this gorgeous bouquet. The palate is dense and chewy with a gorgeous mouthfeel. Layers of ripe figs and blackberry coulis flavors collide with minerals, smoked pork shoulder and minerals all meld together in the glass. A complete wine, this downright awesome Syrah will cellar well over the next ten years. Drink 2020-2030- 93

Could age more, but drinkable now. Debated over Thanksgiving dinner what to expect from this wine on future tastings. Ageworthy is likeliest conclusion, but should show increased flavor complexity ideally.

A reminder to check alcohol content. Rated at 14.4%. Tastes like 15.5%. Missing out on the earthiness or lower alcohol syrahs. Wouldn’t buy again, but a technically sound wine.

Beautiful deep ruby and blue color. Fruit forward with raspberry and boysenberry predominant. Excellent tannins, well balanced with a long length .... delicious!!
