Wet black and green peppercorn. I have a special place in my heart for Côte rotie.

Unless I win the lottery, one of only ways to try fancy wines like this is to choose lesser vintages. Apparently the 2014 wasn’t one of their best years but that didn’t stop this from being a tasty glass at all. Powerful nose of red meat thrown on a wood-burning grill and equally strong portions of black plum and tea on the tongue. Tannins linger for an encore.
