California Cabernet Sauvignon

Blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, Deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits and herb spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with tobacco, cedar and herb black pepper spice. Firm dry tannins, medium finish with spicy oak ending. Just ok. Not a fan!

A crowd pleasing Cali cab. Vanilla and plum aromas, some cigar too. Dark berry flavors, quite simple. Drinks lightly with a medium body, low acidity, and velvety finish but I’m slightly put off by some residual sweetness. That’s just my preference though, I know many people will really enjoy this.

I don’t usually have an Impossible Burger... but when I do, it’s a Decoy! The burger exceeded expectations. Might have been worthy of the Duckhorn Merlot.

Light for a Cab Sauv. Smells of burnt brown sugar and smoke. Maybe tastes of cherries and a little brown sugar. Taste dissipates very quickly.

I’ve had some inconsistencies with these Decoys bottles but this one holds up. Presents as a typical cab to me with a bit more sweetness.

A pleasant Cab Sauv, though it doesn’t have a lot of punch… Flavors of blackberry, plum and cassis.
