Rosé made from 50% Pinotage and 50% Cab Sauv... say what?!?

There was no doubt that I had to include this De Grendel 2017 Rosé in last months #thetcwineclub box, has anyone else tried it yet?

Pinotage is South Africa’s 🇿🇦 signature grape variety. It’s a red grape 🍇 and it’s a cross between the grapes Pinot noir and Cinsaut.

I enjoyed this rosé with my parents as I know my mum is rather fond of rosé. We found it a rather peachy, nearly copper colour on the eye. Red fruits, apple and a slight hint of sweet anise wheels rose up from the glass. While in the mouth it’s dry with refreshingly juicy notes of strawberries and watermelon 🍉. I’d definitely drink it again!

A very pleasing rose with loads of character. No legs and a very light nose, still worth every sip.
