Langhe Nebbiolo
Impromptu dinner at Buvette with Holly. They had veal osso bucco on the menu so we went for this lovely Langhe Nebbiolo from De Forville. On the pop and pour, the tannin is mouth puckering but after about 20-30min of air, the tannins relax their grip a bit and this opens up for business. The fruit is fresh and pure; red and black fruits with some tar and minerals. Satisfyingly delicious and worked so well with the meal. Killer QPR for under $30.

Dec 19th, 2023Loved this experience. A delicate and even more fruit forward expression of the grape. Definitely young but very good plus. Great mix of bright dark red cherries and the chewy tannic finish that goes on forever. Really needs 60 min decant minimum. When I tasted upon open I was not optimistic. But this grew into an elegant mix of violet flowery goodness, cherry, firm and tasty tannin and med plus acidity. Add a signature red brick color and fragrant nose and you have a winner. A bit light on body or it’d be even higher.

Aug 2nd, 2019Absolutely delicious and an incredible value. Equal parts “tar” and “violets” in the classical Piedmontese Nebbiolo profile. Darker fruits, but very pure, focused and energetic with great tension. Undercurrents of iron and sanguine notes add interest without muddling the wines focus. Violets dominate the high acid, refreshing finish.

Mar 26th, 2019Tastes strongly of black cherries. Very pleasant to drink. Rather thin texture, not too strong tannins. Tastes delicious with mozzarella.
