Vintage 2011 / a frivolous smell with raspberry, a high acidity. Good balance. Fine wine. / Paired with grilled entrecote and vegetables from the oven

Vintage 2011 - Wow, what a few years cellaring can do! Lots of morello cherries in the fantastic smell, good balance

Always a great value, textbook 'affordable' Northern Rhone Syrah, call this pleasure without make up nor jewels. Enjoy

100% Syrah from his 11-acre upper terrace planted in 1955. Certified organic and biodynamic. Low 30 hl/ha yields. Violets, blueberry, savory, but keeps changing.

Nose dominated by great, deep red & black berry fruit rather than big meat (though that lingers in the back ground) deep floral, violets and black pepper along with charred red meat, great texture in the mouth, soft, melting, fruit forward tannin with t lovely bitter cherry and juicy black berry fruit that makes this eminently drinkable with a great purity of fruit on the length.

Mineral nose. Better palate. VV. Spicey and gamey. Not remarkable but drinkable.

Kinda torn with this wine. If this was given to me blind, I would guess new world Syrah all the way. On the nose, darrrrk fruit and some sweet oak. In the mouth, black cherries and molasses. Medium tannins, medium acid. Medium finish. Nothing that would let me know this was a Crozes. Sorta disappointing, but no flaws.

CVed 2/10/18 comp of Pax Donelan Syrah. Interestingly the nose more like Donelan with hint of sweetness and prominent dark fruits. But palate is leaner and firmer than new world.
