Birthday picnic at Crissy Field. Unusual for a Pinot. Orange and bright red nose. Good mouthfeel, deep purple with hints of green and brown.

Garnet with only the faintest brick at the margin. Very fruity, a little earthy, with only the barest hint of raisin. Purchased from the winery earlier this year, so it was cellared perfectly throughout its life (and in my wine fridge here the last few months). Don't let it hang around much longer, but don't be afraid to pair it with food. It held up to a pan-seared pork flank steak and some chanterelles, adding greatly to the sautéing of the mushrooms.

Getting old, brick red. Black cherry, strawberry rhubarb compote. Fruit is soft but still lively, a fair bit of acid. Tannins still have a little grip on the lengthy finish. This is what gently aged Pinot Noir should be.

Perfectly cellared, still holding up very well. Fruit is still bright and acidity is lively. Great showing.
