10% Viognier, which I can only imagine was done to soften up otherwise brutally acidic and tannic Syrah from the vintage. However, it's expertly done and still manages to be big, bold, and 14.5% abv. Very floral and herbaceous nose of lilac, hibiscus, and plum. Coats the entire palate with big blackberry juice, smooth earthy oak, and chalky tannins.

Really loved this, not overly jammy, but def had dark fruit, some pepper and red meat as well, v fun

Very fruit forward. Tastes like there was an acid add. High in acidity....decent color. Lots of life left for an '07. A bit unilateral.
