Brief notes: A rich and full bodied Grenache from the best district for the varietal in Australia, McLaren Vale, I believe. Raspberry and tar with real grip. Had a second bottle 54 weeks later on 15th February 2023. Unimpressive to be honest. Quite blocky without finesse. Drinks to its price point of $16.95.

Smokey and balsamic nose. I was getting a lot of eucalyptus. I particularly enjoyed how it's lateral on the palate it has great intensity and good acidity. It pops upon entering your mouth.

Big fruit nose. Raspberry syrup.
Medium tannin. Chewy. Maybe like more with food.

More approachable and balanced than the 2011. Tannins were more mellow.

A nice, easy going Grenache. All the classic Grenache flavors and texture. Would be great for BBQ.

Tastes like an old world french. Higher alcohol, hot. Oldest vines in Australia.

Fruity. Grenache hides the alcohol. Approachable.

Great Grenache with great structure. Definitely earthier than Cali Grenaches! Mild tannins and dark fruit.
