Paso Robles usually impresses me and I would trust Daou to produce a great wine but I don't love this. It's got a butterscotch flavor (which I'm not a fan of when it comes to Chadonnay) with toasty oak on it. I'm missing the fruit or it's so muted because the acidity is kicking in that I can barely get notes of pear and some candied green apple. I'll stick with a Red the next time I choose Daou.
*Paired with food brought out some acidity and brighter fruit flavors so I did raise my rating. It did improve the wine but I prefer enjoying a wine on it's own without needing food to bring out it's best flavors.
