16/20 (89/100) Аромат спелой ежевики, варенья из шелковицы, мускатного ореха, гвоздики и кожи. Довольно тельное и кислотное вино. Умеренно танинное. Терпкие ягоды во вкусе. Любопытное.

Very interesting Shiraz 95%-Riesling 5%. I highly enjoyed this Australian variation of a French style wine. Superb oaking supports rich, juicy opulence. Aromas of pepper, black raspberry, currant, and violets leap from the glass. Very smooth and drinkable without the strong 14.5% abv overpowering the fruit which means what's in the glass is highly concentrated and structured. Swoon!

This is the 2011. 5% Riesling. So apparently back in the day the Aussies wanted to blend with a little Viognier like their friends in Cote Rotie but didn't have the Viognier but they had Riesling. So we have this. Not Cote Rotie but the Riesling gives it an extra kick of acid I feel. Had by itself, would work real nice with a weeknight piece of meat. Dark fresh fruit. Really cool. And I'm not an Australian wine drinker but have always preferred McLaren Vale. Even back to my Grateful Palate days.
