Knockout. All the Chenin-y floral elegance one wants with the cool, wintery air that makes Savennieres so wonderful and distinctive.

After about 5 days this is singing. Caramel butterscotch has joined the chorus.

This wine is just as delicious as the first time I tried it, aging glacially too 😋 Powerful, complex, balanced, texturally expansive and detailed, savory and singular. Love the clarity that binds it all together. Golden pear, pineapple, citron, salted lemon, citrus blossom, candied ginger, crushed leaves, white tea, spring honey, kiss of something vanilla, of a mouthful of wet stones.

Killer nose! Chamomile, apple pie, Meyer lemon, ginger, bruised pear, and nutmeg. All carry through to the palate. The structure is seamless. Lip-smacking acidity and a clean mineral note are here, too. This wine feels like it flows through a clear beginning, middle, and finish.

Intoxicating nose. Sweet yellow fruit aromas and flavors are followed by a round mouthfeel and well-defined acidity.

Butterscotch and hazelnut precede spiced baked apple with ginger and nutmeg. Lanolin, wet stone, kerosene and lemon verbena round out the palate.

Back in my life. So happy about it! Let this hang out for a day and it has really came around. Poached quince, bergamot, pineapple, honeycomb, leaves, ginger, wet rocks, lanolin, marzipan, orange zest. Love the layers and approachability of this wine. Truly cerebral and exciting to drink.
