Restrained and masculine. Brett, sour red plum, iodine, sweet tobacco, toasted baking spices. This wine reflects the vintage very well and is very well built. I'm guessing it isn't showing its best yet.

Nariz: ciruela, cereza, vainilla, cuero, tierra, cedro, flores secas. Aromas primarios y secundarios.
Boca: Tanino M bastante resueltos, Acidez M, Alcohol M/M+.
Muy bueno.

Rioja gran reserva, hard to go wrong with these… normally they are solid wines with lots of power and structure.

Oct 17th, 2021Dark ruby red color. The nose is powerful: raspberries, chocolate and also leather. The mouthfeel is complex and balanced! The berries are immediately apparent, followed by savoryness, and hints of vanilla. The finish is long, intense, and full of round tannings but smooth as silk. Rioja, paella and Alejandro Sanz; can’t get more Spanish than that. And it may be the inspiration talking but this bottle is tasting as close to Rioja perfection as I’ve ever had.

Opened a couple this is Guadalajara, at Sonora Grill Prime. Vintage 2008. Gran Riserva. Leathery finish, lovely balance fruits, plums, soft tannins.

Jan 30th, 2019Sexy. Awfully ripe and mellow. Dried fig and blueberries. Oaky vanilla and spice tones. Just a touch of earth. Had alongside lamb chops.
