California Cabernet Sauvignon

Happy Wine Wednesday! Okay, I'll admit, picked this one up for the bottle. It was calling me from the shelf. Nice, aromatic, fruit forward on the nose cab with a kick of spice at first sip. It's good. I wouldn't say it's great. But it's good. Chewy tannins. Cherries, cinnamon, and and clove. Not bad. Might be better with food.

Cab: not worth $20, but still pretty good. Not very bold but was nice and smooth. Could use some depth.

Delish! Paired with meatballs and French bread dinner w/ Stu

All Saints/All Hallows Eve themed label. But pink? Dark and stormy color in the glass. Smells like fruit leather and railroad ties. Flavors are muted berry jam and fruity black licorice. It’s actually better than I expected. It’s in the CA red blend a la Apothic, Ménage a tois style, but it’s got a bit more bite and some depth. It’s nothing special, but I wouldn’t dump it on the graveyard ground at the seance.

Good, not great for $20, but we got it on sale for 13 so definitely adequate, just not very bold.

Good with provolone and Genoa salami, good by itself, smooth
