Cullen Wines
Amber Margaret River Sémillon Sauvignon Blanc
Smoky, struck Flint opening up with air to show spiced pineapple chunks, cinnamon, nettles covered in golden syrup.
Foursquare palate does not seem resolved with alcohol to apparent in the finish. Maybe needs a longer decant

Nov 20th, 2020Sav Blanc is not my favorite but this was pretty interesting. Brought this back from Mags River last year. Really like Cullen wines and this one paired well with sashimi and bad NFL bets. Tons of grapefruit and marmalade.

Jan 5th, 2020Most fascinating wine in a long time. Conclusion, at 3 years it is far too young. That wood needs time to integrate. On day 1 it dominated the fruit. Served cold you will find grapefruit bitterness, slightly warmer, the wood is obvious, nose comes alive and bitterness dissipates. Come back after a week of travels, pored the last glass (from fridge) and my gosh! Fruit and wood in very good harmony. Still fresh, no oxidation and really pleasant.

Apr 2nd, 2017Been wanting to try this for while now. Flippin amazing nose. Needs some time a bottle though - that oak. Fine wine! Definitely one to turn those unconvinced by the orange team over.
