Reserve Mendoza Malbec

A wine being hawked by a big box wine store. Not sure why “Reserve” is put on a $13 wine?? Typical red fruit aromas and woodsy spice. On the palate simple cherry/raspberry flavors, some pepper spice, not very complex. Tasted hot with an alcohol burn and when I looked at the label, it was only 13.5 ABV so where did burn come from? Biting tannins, medium, ending was a bit off. Overpriced at $13. Tasting Sample.

Aroma of plums and fruits. Rich red purple color. Smooth but deep tannin taste. Acidic in effect. Not good for the spicy food I was having.

Bold fruit, tannic, long lasting finish

For the price, nice representative of Malbec. Tobacco notes on the front.

Drank slightly chilled, very mellow and slightly dry. Overall, pretty good.
