Wow, to my recollection, this is my first Happy Canyon Cabernet.. definitely my first higher end one - and it did not disappoint. Beautiful nose with some dried rose petals, briary black fruit, and licorice. Palate is pretty rich and powerful. Alcohol is pronounced but it's not necessarily distracting. Great flavor and I think it'll only get better with 3-5 years of age.

Last time I had this I rated it higher. Still a great wine but I should have decanted or held on to it longer. Dark berry pie.

First time having this wine. This is actually their first vintage. Shared a table with the winemaker, Adam. Really impressed with this wine.

Inaugural release. You can tell serious effort was put into the wine. Aromatics were subtle upon opening. Nice floral, cigar box, blue/purple fruit. Palate has elegant texture. Seamless with decent acidity. Good blue/purple/black fruits. Finish is a bit short. As it opened it became very hot, throwing off the balance.
