Plenty of cherry & bramble fruit, pepper, black olive, damson, plum and fresh thyme coming through with (errr) time in the glass. Touch of sweet liquorice, tar, controlled style. Palate has a tad less going on but the dark, plummy fruit isn't overly jammy and tannins are svelte, low acid with a rich finish. Drank this with good quality Welsh lamb chops with oregano, olive oil and thyme marinade, a great match, simple but so very satisfying.
