Paul Hobbs has earned his place in the Mendoza history books, and now he’s taking on Cahors. While undoubtedly displaying his winemakerly stamp, Crocus demonstrates juicy varietal character - inky, plummy, blue-toned Malbec with just enough acidic lift to keep the tannic perception at bay.

Recently rebranded as La Roche Mère this is the most prestigious of the three wines from this property

Earthy violet, hints of chocolate and cedar. Great length and balance - this has a refinement you don't find in Argentine malbec
Exceptionally smooth tannins with enough acidity to compliment most dishes on the table. There is oak on the nose and palate but it is held in check, adding to the wine's complexity

WowBig Boy! Full bodied Rich and yes I was fooled! Thought it to be from Uco or Mendoza Providence! Yes it is Cahor Appellation in France made by Paul Hobbs team! Opened 5 hours before trying, big full and rich with massive fruit and tannin. This is a Supreme effort. Will retail in the 120.00 range. Worth seeking out. CB 96

This was amazing, built like a Sherman tank, drank great over 3days even preferred it 2nd morning the most. Deep cassis, Rolling Stones paint it black- olisous ness in the fruits tightly wound. 11/10 would drink again.

Lighter bodied than you'd expect. Very fruit forward, just a *little* earthiness. Really enjoyable.

Acidic and soft, medium plus body. Damson fruit and bitter chocolate. No oak shine through.

Medium plus body, medium minus acid. Stewed, chewy blue fruits/boysenberry with faint balsam. Good for Malbec
