Generally speaking, I am not a fan of Lodi Zinfandel. I find the wines to be way too over the top way to raisiny and way to Jamm-y. This wine is the opposite of that. This wine has a lot of restraint (ABV 14.5)!and a beautiful elegance to it. Red and blue Berries are both represented here I think the blueberries are the dominant flavor along with some beautiful baking spice influence. there is a rawness to the spice note that make the finish very interesting. Seek this in out!

Covenant Wines - 2018 “Mensch” Lodi Zinfandel

Surprisingly tame for Lodi Zinfandel, also surprisingly good for Mevushal wine (fruit was processed by Flash Détente).

Have been wanting to try the wines of Covenant for a while, grabbed at WF to try during Bay Area Lock Down.
