Courtney Benham
Handcrafted Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley, California, USA

I have to say, this idea of treasure hunting for the best extra fruit around the valley is proving to be a great investment. Of course he couldn't disclose his sources because it could undermine another famous and more expensive label, but all that matters is that his Courtney Benham labels are meant to over-perform. 14.2% alcohol from a warm vintage makes me suspect more southern Napa if I had to guess where the fruit was coming from. Chocolate covered pomegranate, lavender and clove in the aromas. The pallet is full of well integrated firm tannins, dark cherry, milk chocolate, nutmeg, and a lengthy finish. Not on the jammy rich side anymore, which makes this better for me. Great value for $25.

May 30th, 2017Great for the price point. Peppery, with a slight fruit forward taste and dry on the finish. Medium body. Would buy again

I think I agree with Joe Gillies - it's a little bland, but very drinkable. It's balanced with fruit and tannins, but the personality just isn't bright. Very good for price.
