Bright ruby red with a hint of garnet. Aromas of stewed fruits with some beetroot and clove. More acidic than I was expecting. Sour cherry ( hope not added acid). This comes from Copains best vineyard in the Anderson Valley. Still quite vibrant with bright red fruits. Not as impressive as I wanted it to be.

On the nose the California version of Vosne Romanee spice . Wonderful concentration in the mouth with minimal weight. Red fruit, cranberry and lavender mix with the slightest hint of earth.

Wow. A spectacularly fragrant nose of red and black cherries and violets. On more than one occasion I have been hypnotized by a wine's "nose" only to be disappointed by the palate. In this instance the nose was strictly foreplay. An avalanche of fruit that is held in check by its structure until it is unleashed in a wave of red and black fruit, baking spice and minerals. Hoping age will bring out even greater complexity.

This is tasting fantastic. Balanced between bright cherry floral roasted herb. Very open straight out of the bottle

2009 drinking well right now but plenty of life left. The Kisers are a pretty dramatic jump up in quality.

Don't open for a few years. Needs time to unfurl & even a few hours of breathing won't get it there at this stage. If you can't resist, try it with a Coravin but otherwise try to save it for later!
