Wegman’s pickup for $6. Most of the bottle went to braise some short rib. One glass for the chef. Dark ruby to purple color. Alcohol, red cherry, and dark earth in the bouquet. M- body, surprisingly heavy oak with vanilla, plum, and more cherry. Lingering finish with more oak, leather, and medium tannin.

Great for drinking with saucy red dinners. It's fruity and rich to balance well seasoned (read: garlicky) sauces, but I wouldn't put it up against anything truly spicy. A good staple Italian red.
