Colli Orientali del Friuli Tazzelenghe
Never before seen grape variety. Tazzelenghe the "tongue cutter." Dried herbs, fennel and dirty mushrooms.

Oct 31st, 2014From a re-discovered ancient local grapes (tazzelenghe is the Friuli tipical slang meaning "tongue-cutter" due to its terrific tannins), this wine found its balance after aging 2 years in oak and several years in bottle. Red/black small fruits and sweet spices at the nose, powerful and fresh on the palate, with licorice and vanilla final flavours.

Mar 16th, 2017Almost Bordeaux like. Rich tannins and spicy with surprising finish. Not what I was expecting from this Friulian wine.
