Bicicleta Carménère

I'm no connoisseur of Cono Sur--bad pun. ;) I only see Chilean wines from giant Concha y Toro (Cono Sur & Casillero del Diablo). Hesitantly, I dove in hoping for cheap & cheerful, but Bicicleta must have veered into a lake...on opening, it was wet dreck. Aired out, it was "drinkable" and its engineered flavors emerged--peppery, berried, café de olla. Aged 9 months in steel vats (or silos?), 7 of which had wood thrown in. Cono Sur churns out +4 million bottles per year = Factory wine...and not their top seller.

Черная смородина, слива, чуть ацетон, гарь. Сочно, просто, как пикниковый вариант вполне.

Aromas a frutillas y frambuesas, mocha y licor junto a un paladar estructurado y frutal.

This is a mild carmenere that vaguely has the taste of strawberries. Very drinkable and enjoyable but rather than buying again I’d probably try another. Totally inoffensive but nothing terribly compelling.

Straight forward table wine. Fruity and not much else.

One of my favorite Carmeneres our three! Not too spicy, soft on the pallet and very favorable.

Good for the price ! Only $10/ bottle.
