Excellent example of a wine that is best enjoyed over the course of an evening, hopefully with some fatty cheese or buttery bread. Most cab and Merlot it has all the cassis and red and black cherries you'd wish for plus the tobacco/vanilla underpinnings of 19 months in oak, both French and American, 30 percent new. As time passes the tannins get a little less jarring and the blackberries and black pepper stand out a bit more. A big bold wine that maybe wasn't what I thought I'd want on a hot end-of-summer night but if it was good now I bet it would be amazing with a hot stew on a cold winter night. It could also take another year to reach its peak methinks.

Loved the soft nose and tannins. Great sipping wine but enjoyed it more with pork roast & veggies. Drank 2014 last week.

Blend: 47% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% other.

Intense aromas of toasted oak and cassis that jump out of the glass quickly followed by notes of deep, dark cherry and ripe plum integrated with hints of brown spice, leather and dark chocolate. I'm dig'in it! 🍷

Way too tannic and one dimensional. Nice red fruit and spice flavors.
