Columbia Crest
Grand Estates Columbia Valley Syrah
Rich, simple. Basic Syrah and good value for money. Chocolate-y and meaty so I guess those of y’all into bacon brownies would dig it.

May 19th, 2019Dark, rustic red in color. Initial nose of candied nuts, berries and cedar. Forward palette was softer than expected with dark berry. Very little peppery spice. More of a baking spice. Smooth tannin finish. Lingered big vanilla bean flavors for me. Paired braised short ribs and polenta. A good drinking Syrah especially for beginners. I prefer a little more peppery earthiness in syrahs. But a good bargain for the price

Jan 4th, 2021Ok wine. Found it a bit light for a syrah with short finish. Fairly acidic with some leathery undertones. Not sweet. $14 Costco.
