Still quite oaky in the nose and palate, some fruit that is fading into earthiness, lovely table wine with some richness, good balance and emerging softness. After 6 years I would expect more integration, but the wine is good for standard table duty.

2/18/14 – Initially it had a musky, woody scent and taste. After hyperdecanting it for 20 seconds though, the woody taste mellowed out quite a bit and it had a fairly lively taste. Unfortunately it was still nothing to write home about. It tasted good, but it wasn't anything special. It had some hints of blackberry and lot's of spiciness, but for the most part, there wasn't anything going on besides the grapes followed by a short finish.

Really enjoyed this wine last night. Quite surprised at the quality for such a price.

Pleasant on the nose, round and simple on the palate. Not a bad buy on sale for $7. Wouldn't pay more than $8. 2009 vintage might not make it a second day, depending on how it has been stored.

Nice wine for a meal like pasta or hamburger. At $9 it's a good value.
