Not the most complex version of this collaboration between the famed Antinori family and Chateau Ste Michelle. But, still enjoyable. Offers up aromas of dark berries, mint, and chocolate which carries over to my palate with additional tannic structure to help lengthen the finish.

Black cherry jelly and black stone. A spot of fruit and a serious bottling. Dense dark dry full bodied. Hard tannins. Finish is serious professional and lingers. $39-$79

A blend of 67 Cabernet Sauvignon 20 merlot, 10 Cabernet franc and 3 Syrah 2009 is 73 Cabernet Sauvignon 15 merlot 10 Cabernet Fran 2 Malbec 10% estate fruit this is the first vintage that they have estate fruit in the blend. 2008 has a very ripe and seductive bouquet currants black cherry and black plum with fresh plowed earth an iron like mineral notes with some fine herbs very elegant with smooth tannins. Finish 45+ most excellent 2009 very forward and seductive with ripe black currant and dark cherry fruit very ripe and round with a firm hand of acidity holding things together nicely with layers of dark coco and tobacco spice. Most excellent +

Much sweeter than I remember. May have gotten a strange bottle. Overall this has been a great year for Col Solare.

2008. On the Great Horse patio w Carnevales. Perfect setting, great friends. Wonderful wine. More red fruit than black. Plush but with nice structure and plenty of room to develop.
