Codice Citra
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
This wine has a surprisingly indistinct package of aromas - some plum here, some blackberry there - but it's not blowing the doors off anyone’s olfactory sense. It's pleasant and not too oaky, so I'll stop complaining. And, a bit of smoke appears after it sits awhile. The palate is more forceful, but it's still a rather easy-going wine in that regard. Dark fruit and a slight oak effect join a rousing acidity and smooth tannins to create a simply enjoyable experience. Pair with pork, or roasted walnuts.
