It is a Catalan grape variety plantend primarily in Priorat.
The name literally translated from Catalan as "old lady strangler" Some wineries use it as part of their blends and one " this one" used 100% of these grapes
A curious nose with white fruits, ripe peach, touches of fig and floral notes, herbs, nice fresh fruit notes on the palate with ripe delicate fruit a touch of almonds, minerality, and a good acidity! Now 93DSP.

A curious nose with white fruits, ripe peach, touches of fig and floral notes, herbs, nice fresh fruit notes on the palate with ripe delicate fruit a touch of almonds, minerality, and a good acidity! Now 93DSP.
A very unique wine made from the rare Escanya-Vella grape and made by Marc Ripoll. Interesting aromas of honey, chamomile as well as lavender, herbs de Provence and breads lees nots. Lively acidity. Aged mostly in an amphora style flex tank allowing it to age oxidatively without oak, Lees stir naturally , before being transferred to oak briefly.
