18+. 1998. Deep ruby with a bit of brown at the rim. Not particularly clear, though not muddy. Not much legs. But a very deep nose, somewhat rustic, complex, a bit like old-style Cote Rotie. Terrific mouthfeel, wraps around the tongue. Wonderful fruit, still a bit of tannin, huge length. Did a vertical of Beaucastel last night - this reminds me of the 1981. But that has only a few years left, while this could easily go 10+ more.
