Most interesting of the line up. Dark ripe fruit, hint of stems on the nose, but tannic finish. 100% whole cluster ferment. Wish it had more layers of detail and nuance.

Clos de la Tech 2009 Domaine Valeta Pinot Noir (SRP $62): Grown on a 2,300 foot ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains, this nicely focused Pinot Noir boasts ripe black cherry and red plum flavors alongside an appealing floral character and savory overtones of earth and light spice. It is full-bodied and well-balanced with a solid core of ripe tannins that melt into a long, pleasing finish. This is a good cellar candidate, but it is hard not to enjoy it now. Only 126 cases of this wine were produced.
