This was my last bottle of the 2005. My previous bottle was enjoyed over four years ago and in that time, quite a bit of secondary characteristics have entered into the picture. Popped and poured; consumed over three hours. Visually, it remains much the same. On the nose it's olives, leather, dark fruit and earth...in that order. On the palate, there is a mix of dark and red fruits with some earth but it's a bit hollow in the middle and there seems to be something missing in the finish. It's not clipped...it's not short...it's just kinda...meh. All of that being said, it remains a wine of obvious quality. I suspect the young-ish nature of the vineyard probably means the best was in this bottle's youth. Still good but drink now if you have them.
