Clos Centeilles
Carignanissime de Centeilles Minervois Carignane
Nose has crushed blackberries, dehydrated blueberries, violets, moist mason sand, new leather, ripe plum with a touch of VA.
Palate has ripe blackberry, ripe blueberry, dried plum, stemmy notes, dry earth, portobello mushroom, faint vanilla with light tannins.
I'm adoring the nose, but the palate is coming up a little short on the richness I might have expected. A very solid wine for ~$14!
Decanted 4H.

the label is misleading because this wine is remarkable: southern variety with roasted aromas, liquorice, cloves, mocha, with a certain intensity, while being very light. Vinified in carbonic maceration: Fruity / floral explosion "on black fruit". The whole is original and delicious. Somewhere between Languedoc and Beaujolais. Served chilled around 12-13 degrees. It’s perfect for summer.

Jun 24th, 2020Containment day 2: 100% (old) Carignan. An original, biodynamic wine, vinified like a Beaujolais, in carbonic maceration. Airy, feminine and sensual wine with strong "natural" accents.
