Again under rated by the professionals. Chronic Cellars SOFA KING BUENO 2017 from Passo Robles is AMAZING!!!!! A blend of syrah, grenache, petite sirah, tannat, and Mourvedre. This is almost like an Organ Pinot noir except better!!!!! Its not overly complex, but so easy to drink with no sourness nor bitterness. Lots of cranberry and blackberry up front. There is also cherry!!! The finish leaves a lingering semi dry oaky dark chocolate and buttery finish!!!!!!! So YUMMY... As they say at Chronic Cellars, “Wishes in one hand. Chronic in the other.”

Black Cherry, vanilla nose.
Some leather smokiness as it opens up. Pretty good stuff

This is great. I was expecting fire and jam, but got a lovely nose with purple plums, black pepper, a bit of jalapeño berry jam, baking spice, and good acidity. For the price, fantastic. For a funny label wine, maybe the best I’ve had. Would love to see this in a blind tasting.

Fresh, Fun, Different. Not your typical California wine. A cool fun blend.

Wow. Really liked this one. A motley crew blend of Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Tannat, Mourvèdre. A lot of my favorite grapes wrapped into one smooth blend. Paired this with some pork ribs I smoked on the Big Green Egg for 6 hours. Great match.

Spicy, oakey red wine with bold lingering notes. Highly recommend this syrah blend.

Pale complexion. Bright and young red fruit on the nose. Fruit forward with soft, almost non existent tannins that roll in later on the palate. Short finish.

After opening up and warming up in temperature, Smoky and cedar notes came out on the palate and the tannins rounded out, improving the experience. Still lacking a bit of density. Not half bad though.
