If tar pitch were made of blackberries and smeared on slate. Clean, edgy acidity that seems impossible to exist with the nose that is so animal.

Sep 22nd, 20162011 Domkapitel Ungefiltert. Tannins upon opening, but gave way to a spicy new oak (?!) character and a nice front-of-mouth grip. High acidity made this very food-friendly. The green cab-franc character came through with grace next to pork belly with herbs and fermented grains (barley, rye). The last, sediment-coated glass was the best. Grapefruit pith and oil. Baffling wine.
