2012v. Deep purple. Not a huge nose on this wine- it's mostly oak and sort of a vegetal/bell pepper smell. Very dry on the palette, with just a little plum. The finish is long, with a noticeable new oak. The tannins are definitely there but not grippy and overbearing. This wine was a little perplexing at first. Further research shows that the winemaker blends merlot, cab franc, and malbec. I prefer the fruitier Fronsacs, but this would appeal to those who like it dry and a little rustic. 14% ABV.

This is a delicious Bordeaux that has a nice licorice hint in the nose and a wonderful taste that lingers with candied plums on the tongue.

Velvety, smooth tannins, slightly silky - A harmonious wine with notes of plum, cassis, blueberry, red fruit, with a hint of vanilla. For a wine that is $25, this really is a great value.
