Raspberry coulis and jam. Some nice earthy and mineral flavors. Smoke, little bit of meat. Very nice. Palate is old school with lots of crushed stones, good juicy berry fruit and a nice stoney minerality. Very clean and pure. Finishes rustic and short. Not bad. A particular type of old school, no makeup Bordeaux.

Plum, tart cherry, juniper berry, capers, black olive, a little Brett and a hint of tobacco. Really well balanced.

Decanted softly to remove sediment. Bright garnet color with nice haziness. Highly herbal component, very open aromatics. Cigar box and gravel, red currant and cherries. A fair amount of brett which isn't a problem for me, but this wine comes off as surprisingly stern and austere. Simply not enough fruit to balance the funkiness on the mid palate. I'd be curious to find another bottle to see degree of variation, which I suspect is considerable.

Nice color but rather flat w/ little fruit or exciting anything. Not bad, just nothing special.

Singing! Beautiful dried red fruits, dried flowers, pencil shavings, truffle, herbs, tilled earth. Not bad for being the OG Tampa Bay Bucs label.

Celebrating my buddy Luke's birthday at Town Hearth in Dallas. Talk about over the top style/decorations! More chandeliers than I could count and yes, that's a yellow submarine in the picture. Not pictured is the old Aston Martin by the kitchen and two Ducati bikes above the bar (which is on the menu as a "Primo Side" and can be ordered for a cool $75K 💸😱).

My buddy is slowly getting in to wine and has been loving Bordeaux's. They had a few on the list, but most were 2012/2013. Way too young. This being an '05 made our pick an easy decision. Don't know much about this winery, but it was a solid drinker. Needed about 30mins of air as it was pretty tight at first. Surprisingly very full of blue and dark fruits. Charcoal, blackberries, plums. Blueberries were faint, but welcomed. Quite smooth from start to finish on the palate. Didn't seem super complex, but I'd probably buy again if it was priced in the $50-70 range.

Decanted. A classic food bordeaux that paired nicely with steak au poivre. Nicely balanced with light hints of tobacco, leather, black cherry..
