I loved this in 09 so was eager to try the £37 2010 😁 & it’s a winner to 🏆 Great quality & value lives in this bottle to drink now & into the next 10 years 😉

📍 Chateau Trinquoy-Lalande 2010

🏵 92 points w/ a touch more potential

🍇 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot & 10% Petit Verdot

🍷 Opaque blackened ruby

👃 Blackcurrant & blueberry in light smoked oak w/ blackberry, liquorice, mocha, herby violet tones & touches of mineral rock

👄 Med+ body of plump black currant & berry in mocha, rich minerals & liquorice w/ tones of red berry

🎯 Long mineral & chocolate infused dark fruit touch dry linger w/ a tickle of liquorice & bitter mocha grounds

"One of the Finest Wines I have ever tasted from Tronquoy Lalande, this estate has been resurrected by the Bouygues family (also the owners of Chateau Montrose) capably assisted by Jean Bernard Delmas, the Wine Architect at Haut Brion between 1961 and 2003. A Blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and a whopping 10% Petit Verdot, the 2010 boasts a dense purple color as well as a big, sweet bouquet of violets, black currants, earth and subtle oak. Admirable concentration, sweet, well-integrated tannin and a surprisingly sexy, opulent mouthfeel result in a Gorgeous Wine to drink over the next 12-15+ years". [Score: 90/93 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (194), May 2011 / Score: 92 (205), March 2013]

Drinking blood. Bone dry with a mineral, iron edge. Great aroma.

Magnum, open for 3 evenings. Can definitely still use quite a bit more time. Dark inky blackberry nose, mocha, touch of lavender and earth. Palate has a lot of black plum, maybe the skin, a bit of earth and tannins take over on the finish with more black plum skin. It’s solid, but really needs time to taste its best.

Great tension, definitely still young. Beautiful notes of sap/tar, juicy cassis, ground coffee. Very yummy.

Nose smelled of acidity, and after 20mins this still tasted tight and closed. Ultimately this was just OK but I needed more time to give it a fair shake.
