'S' de Suduiraut Bordeaux Contrôlée

I really didn’t know what to expect when I found this bottle in the cellar — I certainly don’t remember buying it. But this was a very pleasant surprise. Admirably concentrated, with a candy grapish, welches quality, and mallowish, confectionary notes. Good acids, lots of body, thoroughly enjoyable.

Held one back for sometime. Is it wrong to drink this at nearly 12 years old? I think not. The slight oxidative note adds to an already complex wine. Might need to drink these older going forward!

Dry White Bordeaux from the best is expensive. Perfect reason to go across the street for "S" instead of "Y"

the dry style sauternes trend brighter than the pessac leognan style

White stonefruits, citrus and an underlying green note, some oak as well, medium-bodied and really shows the dominant Semillon with mineral and oily, viscous notes as well, this is a really fine dry Sauternes!!

Better balance and depth than most dry whites

Closed fruity/ mineral nose. Palate at first closed, even dilute; then stronger white fruit, good acid, sturdy minerals; improves after an hour. Then fruit (citrus/ stone fruit/ star fruit) and saline minerals; finishes with star fruit, a bit of oak, a hint of anise. Might expect more development in a few years.

Solid dry Sauv Blanc/ Sem blend and great QPR in the mid-$20’s.

Reliable daily drinker - Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blend. Excellent value.
