When you buy this for a party (which for the value and the rating you inevitably will) and people say, "hmm this isn't very good" look them straight in the eye and say, "oh yeah? This is a French bordeaux you uncultured swine. Maybe your pallet isn't as refined..." and then walk away in a huff. Just know that your friend was right and buy a better bottle next time.

Nice balanced fruit notes with plum and blackberry, low acid with soft palate feel and lingering tanins

Generic, young, tight, inexpensive (but not worth the price) cherry-ish Bordeaux. 86-87.

A straggler from the old values of GL-12. Dark garnet and Enticing ripe black fruits and earthy nose. Rich chewy texture but well balanced and good finish. A Merlot of old.

Very good wine for the price. Picked it up at highland park wines and those guys usually do a great job of buying. Definitely a lot of tabaco and bite but I prefer that over a fruit bomb any day. Some black licorice, pepper and medium to full bodied. Tastes almost like a strait petit verdot, no indication of the actual blend of the Bordeaux grapes on the label. Will buy again.

Had the ‘14 from Jane & Steve. Not a fan, all I taste is tobacco, and I quit smoking decades ago. It’s also very thin tasting.
