Chateau Ste. Michelle
Indian Wells Columbia Valley Red Blend

Founded in 1934, Chateau Ste. Michelle is the oldest winery in Columbia Valley, Washington, deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruit and oaky notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of cacao and oak. Fine tannins, full body, finished about medium and had plenty of character.

In really good shape for being 7 years old. Refined elegant tannins layered throughout.

Dark sour cherry and berry notes and whips of vanilla. The finish is moderate with bite of tannins and acid that mellows nicely with food.

Dark purple in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose with blackberries, black cherries, strawberries, figs, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, pencil lead, beef jerky, light chocolates and peppercorn. A very nice nose.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates, light coffee and black pepper.
Tangy finish with fine tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Washington red blend is very enjoyable. Nicely balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Easy drinking, fruity and tasty.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 60 minutes of airtime. Will be better in a year or two, as it becomes more complex.
A good wine to sip on by the porch, and good for parties too. Just delicious.
A blend of 46% Syrah, 32% Merlot, 8% Malbec, 6% Grenache, 4% Mourvèdre, 2% Viognier and 2% Cinsaut. Aged for 20 months in 51% New French and American oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Oh well this is not bad!?! Great nose and actually seems inviting on the first taste. But 3 to four tastes and it seems a little 2 sided and not much more complex. Still...at 13 bones...sure! $12 / 88pts Youngs206
