Happy National Wine Day to all, the Smith Haut Lafite is simply delicious, at the age of 15 the wine is at its peak with an enchanting nose of: black fruit, black plum, ash, beef broth, baking spice, cedar, cigar box, espresso, earth , medium to full body, with a touch dry well integrated tannins, sublime acidity and a long delicious lingering finish of coffee and earth, my score 93, drink to 2021

A lovely Bordeaux Grand Cru from an underrated vintage, complex, rich elegant yet robust. Drinking beautifully now. The wine has a deep garnet color almost black, nose is ripe and elegant with black current, coffee, chocolate, blue berries and light mint, full body, luscious tannins, smooth, rich, lovely balancing acidity, long delicious finish. My score 91, drink to 2023

Spalding get your foot off the boat! Thought of that quote when my wife told me to put the phone down that half of the 30 people following me don’t care about what I’m posting. I told her correction- less than 10 people follow me and NO one cares! I digress. Oh yes the wine. I have a soft spot for this wine. I bought this when I first started collecting. I have reviewed it before. Still think 04 is better than 03. Medium weight and still a decent inky purple with dark fruit, tobacco some smoke and mineral.

Somewhat closed on the nose, good start but not long enough for a wine of this pricerange. In good company with heavy discussions so maybe not tasted with proper attention
