Firm, unyielding, and closed, this will need another decade. After a few hours some currant fruit poked through, but at this point it’s mostly earth, iron/mineral, and herbal notes. Very classic/traditional, and will appeal to that set, but to me a high floor/low ceiling kind of wine.

Blackberry and raspberry nose, molasses, red licorice, saddle leather, and oak on the palate. dark burgundy color. Lovely!

May 17th, 2019Gorgeous almost black color with purple rim. Blackberries, paprika, blueberry pie, almost smells like sriracha! Very cool on the nose. Leather, mushroom, earth on the palate. Med tannins, way less fruity. Very earthy leathery lovely wines.

Popped and poured. Rookie mistake. Great nose dark berries and cedar but tannins overpowered everything on the palate. Much better day 2 and 3. Throwing my last bottle to the back of the cellar and forgetting about for a few years

We have had two bottles of this in the last week. Half of each is on the second day. The best for last is what we say about this. Smooth, wonderful aroma with a deep purple color and rich flavor. With or without a full meal it is delicious.
