This Wine starts off rather disappointingly – Day one rather tannic and dry which is the dominant taste. Day two not much better: day four !! This wine comes alive: soft berry fruits subtle oakyness and soft tannins, great balance and Finnish. On reflection in need a lot longer in the bottle, or open and leave for a few days !!

An Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois of 2008. Medium ruby. After decantation for 2.5 hours in the decanter, the primitive charcoal, blackpepper evolved with more elegant fruit characters and classic Bordeaux style, traditional, not pronounced. Hints of animal fur, meat, figs and wet leaves as well as pencil lead. On palate, it is very suave by medium tannin, very ripe and soft. Medium + acidity. Lacks flavor and length though. Medium + finish 85-86 points. Better drink now or the following year. Can be seen as fully developed, further cellaring won' t improve it. Tasted in Beijing, 12 th October 2013

Asked my guy at the shop for something undervalued and I scored. Very smooth, no bite. So damn good.
