"Syrah, like Malbec, is one of the darkest red wines. It tends to pop early on the palate with a high " attack" to use a musical term. The winemaker has managed to turn down the attack while turning up the mid to late palate experience to produce a wine that starts surprisingly soft for a Syrah and gradually builds into the powerhouse you expect. Look for black cherry, raspberry and smoke with lingering pepper."
